These are our ponies

Stella

This pony is the super star in the paddock who, teamed up with her favourite rider has won many competitions. She is fast, reliable and keen to please. She likes a rider who knows what they are doing but now is proving very trustworthy with little beginners.

Abbey

This girl is our greatest treasure from Gisborne. She has mustered, hunted, dressaged and show jumped. No fuss and so kind. She just likes to do what she is told.

Ava

This is Stella’s Gypsy Cob daughter. She spooks at nothing. When Ava is not focussing on food she loves games, jumping and dressage but has more whoa than go. Her rider needs to be the boss.

Missy

Missy is our 9.2 hh shetland. She has lived her 20 plus years of life here at Auburndale riding school and is perfect for the very smallest riders. She has a bridle but doesn’t need it. If the rider is happy to trot and weave in and out the other ponies they can ride Missy on their own.

Ruby

Ruby is Abbey’s favourite daughter. She is a bit smaller, 15 hands but has Abbey’s beautiful kind nature. She likes nothing better than loading onto the truck with all the others and heading off to one of the amzing treks around Canterbury. This year Ruby should be ready for young riders.

Freddy

Freddy is the favourite if you have experience in riding. His canter is so smooth you hardly move and Freddy jumps everything asked of him. He loves his work especially out in the front leading the group.

Matty

Matty is the School Master. He adapts to any rider whether they want to be up with the jumpers or eating grass with the beginners. Matty is the pony everyone loves.

Reggie

Reggie has just joined us from the steep hill country of Gisborne. He is a safe seasoned cavalcader so will be a valuable asset to our weekends out trekking.

Hogan and Tinks

These are our 2 chestnut stationbred babies. They have both started their training this year and have a while to go before they can teach riders.

Guiseppe

This wee man is our little teddy bear. He is always willing and kind. Guiseppe had an amazing rider and won the dressage section at his first ODE, then the jumping section at the next. Now he is a favourite for the total beginners.
